The Cavs were far from their best in a performance which seen them get a point away to Tiryberth.
The hosts started the much bright and their pressing panicked Nelson, who were sloppy in possession and awkward defensively. A silly push in the box by Joey Brain saw a penalty rightly awarded and the home side took a deserved lead. This seemed to wake the Cavs up and they began to settle into the game. Matthew Greenaway was grabbing the game by the scruff of the neck in midfield and the front two of Ryan Donovan and Liam Dellana started to come into the game. Dellana was put through and clearly taken out in the box, but to everyone’s surprise no penalty was awarded. The Cavs soon got an equaliser, quick thinking from Ceri Clingo saw him take a quick free kick and play through Dellana who made no mistake with the finish.
The game was very much end to end, not many clear cut chances until Donovan’s strike from the edge of the box saw the home keeper spill the ball over the line. Just before the whistle Brain handballed in the box but to everyone’s surprise no penalty was awarded, a lucky escape for Nelson.
The second half was much the same, the game lacked much quality and it was end to end with both teams lacking quality. Birth for a deserved equaliser after their striker followed in a free kick. Both teams had half Chances but nothing major of note until Greenaway missed a glorious chance right before the full time whistle. 2-2 FT and a point a piece which was a fair reflection on the game, both teams had chances to win.
Man of the match was Lewis Lawford for an energetic display and excellent work rate, getting forward to support the attack and defending solidly.
